Arise Sir Ken , UK Cabaret congratulates the King of Knotty Ash on his knighthood.

After what must have been an agonising long wait, the comedy legend that is Ken Dodd is finally Sir Ken. The news came as the Queen’s new year’s honours list was published. The legions of Doddy fans have not be slow in showing support and relief at news of the honour.

Dedicating a lifetime to theatre restoration, charity work and thousands of comedy performances, some would say that the 89 year-old Doddy, has been made to wait far too long, but finally this deserved accolade has been attained.

UK Cabaret joined the social networking campaign to get Ken Dodd knighted and, along with his other fans, as managing editor of UK Cabaret, I was as delighted as anyone when the news was announced.

As Sir Ken himself stated recently;’ I have the best job in the world- Because I only see happy people’.
