Tribute top ten

UK Tribute

Occasionally within this regular feature, we like to take a vox-pop approach to the tribute market, by naming our top 10 of solo tribute subjects most frequently sought by bookers and function/party organisers. Below we list just a few and name-check UK Cabaret subscribers who appear in our artiste directory that bookers may wish to contact. Mark Ritchie compiles the list.

Abba- Industry name Lisa Kelsey performs an Abba Girls type of act, along with another female singer. Hayley Arnold and her Mamma Mania band show is out there for those with the budget for a full band and all the trimmings.

Dolly Parton- Dani Graham and Carrie Anne Rendell are both out there amongst what is rapidly becoming a rather crowded market. Both these ladies are at the top of the tribute tree!

Celine Dion- Lisa Harter is doing very well indeed with her Celine show and her natural resemblance to the real thing, allied to her great voice and trained dancing skills speaks volumes.

Adele- We have a wealth of tributes from this area on our subscriber list. Natalie Anne Black, Katie Markham, Belinda Hallows, Lareena Mitchell and Jennah, to name but a few.

Kylie Minogue- Cheryl Hadley and her Rogue Minogue act is busy with festivals and larger-scale events. A real market-leader who could easily be mistaken for the real thing.

Cher- I saw South-East England based singer Cherie Pearce performing as Cher recently and there are many others too.

Pink- Stacy Green is a market-leader in this area, but there are many other ‘Pink Ladies’ out there, which suggests a huge appeal.

Neil Diamond- Now described by many as a ‘Heritage Tribute’, due to their appeal to more mature crowds, our very own Design Manager Adam Press is busy with his Neil Diamond show. Another exponent amongst our subscriber list is Paul Reason.

Tom Jones- Simon Howard and his Kiss Tom show is possibly, in my opinion, the most under-rated of the tributers to ‘Jones the Voice’.

Tina Turner- Justine Riddoch is a great supporter of this publication and her Totally Tina show features a live band and dancers, which has established a circuit of theatre dates which the show fills at least once every year.
